FAQ
How did you start renting out dumpsters?
Our company Chicago Dumpster Rental Now initially started as a third party cleaning service for upscale restaurants, hotels, schools and other businesses. As the operation progressed, we noticed that there was a lack of roll-off dumpsters for rent despite good demand for it. We often find ourselves throwing out the junk and dumping them into overfilled dumpsters. Soon thereafter, we invested in dumpster rentals to meet our customers’ needs. After a few years, we started purchasing more dumpsters for us to rent out to homeowners, establishments and offices in Illinois in need of waste removal services.
How does renting a dumpster work?
Renting a dumpster unit can sometimes be confusing. But with the right company, your application should move smoothly. You just need to contact the company and request for their service. They will then introduce their services, with the size and the type of dumpster you might need depending how much waste there is to take care of.
When will the dumpster get picked up?
This depends on the agreement between you and the company. Since waste management, length of service, and waste collection schedule is going to be discussed beforehand, the dumpster will be picked up (with or without trash inside) at the agreed address, on the agreed date and time.
How big are the dumpsters?
Dumpsters are measured by cubic yards. Typically, waste management companies that offer these rentals have 14 different sizes. However, keep in mind that other companies may not have every size out there as some of them might be out of stock.
You may discuss the size with an expert at your company (call 872-228-2672 now). This way you can give a correct estimate of the trash your house or your business needs to get removed, and then our company can suggest an appropriate size.
What goes in the dumpster?
Our company accepts all types of waste debris that are classified as household, construction and concrete debris. Dirt or soil, stump and brushes are also allowed. However, keep in mind that hazardous waste such as harmful chemicals, battery liquids, asbestos, solvents and any harmful wastes are forbidden.
In the event that you need to get rid of these types of wastes, consult your local county office and they will be able to provide you with a list of accredited companies who can safely handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals.

How much does a dumpster cost?
The cost of a dumpster is made up of several factors: the size of the dumpster, the weight of the debris, the length of the rental period and local taxes and fees. This means that the exact price of a dumpster varies according to location and the specifics of your order. No matter where you’re located or how much you’re disposing of, we offer simple flat-rate pricing on all of our dumpster sizes, so you’ll always know the full price up front. Also, keep in mind that each dumpster has a weight limit. These limits allow for a lot of weight but if you should go above the limit, there is an extra charge.
How do I rent a dumpster?
All it takes is a quick phone call. Our customer service representatives will help you choose a dumpster size and set up your order within minutes.
When will my dumpster be delivered?
Our deliveries generally take place between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, but this can vary based on the current schedule and availability. Please contact the team member who set up your order if you have any additional questions regarding your delivery. Dumpsters can be delivered on Saturday and Sunday for an extra charge.
Do I need to be home when it’s delivered?
There’s no need to be present for delivery or pickup. On delivery and pickup day, just make sure the area where you want the dumpster placed is clear and not blocked by cars or anything else that may prevent us from accessing the spot. Please also be sure the dumpster is loaded properly, with nothing sticking up over the top or hanging over the sides.
What if I need a dumpster long term?
Give us a call. We can work out a price and duration of rental for longer term needs.
Will my dumpster have a door?
Most of our dumpsters feature a door that can be opened to carry in items that are too large to toss over the side. The door is located on the end that rolls off the truck first. You’ll need at least eight feet of space in front of the dumpster to open the door completely.
What is the best way to load my dumpster?
It’s best to load a dumpster as evenly as possible. This will allow you to fit more debris inside and help to ensure you don’t overload the dumpster. It’s also important to make sure that no items hang over the side or stick up over the top of the container, since this can make it dangerous for the hauler to pick up the dumpster. Please note that you may be charged an additional fee if your container is overfilled.
Do I need a permit?
You will need to contact your municipality to see if you need a permit for your dumpster.
What do I get aside from the dumpster?
The rental of a rolloff dumpster includes a one-time pickup and delivery date. Standard disposal and fuel fees, along with state taxes are already included in the price. You may request an itemised price list so that you can select the necessary service you need. If there are specific services that you require and are not on our list, please feel free to contact us and we can set up an arrangement for you.
Can I move the smaller dumpster on the street?
Smaller dumpsters do not require trucks for you to move them. Even though they are not as massive as the other rental units, there are still specific laws the city of Boise has regarding waste management. Please check with your local municipality if placing a dumpster on the street is allowed. In Jacksonville itself permits are required.
What are the acceptable materials that can be put in the dumpster?
Solid waste items are permitted. However, collative, radioactive, highly flammable, biomedical, explosives, toxic or hazardous materials are absolutely prohibited. Please do not throw free liquids of any kind in the container. If you have prohibited wastes that need to be hauled away, please notify us right before the terms and conditions are set. We have specific services that accommodate hazardous wastes like these and save energy.
Whether this is your first time renting a dumpster container or if you’re simply looking for a waste disposal partner at an affordable rate, we are here to serve you and the Boise community!
Is It Possible That A Dumpster Could Damage My Driveway?
You can protect your driveway by laying plywood down so that the container can be placed on top of it. During the hot summer months, the weight of the container or the truck can leave indentations in asphalt driveways, which can lead to cracks. The best approach to protect your driveway from damage is to lay plywood over it.
What Is The Durability Of The Dumpster?
Depending on the dumpster company, this may or may not be the case. Depending on the company, they can be rented for as little as 5 days or as long as 30 days. The maximum rental period is 15 days.
Does The Delivery Or Removal Require My Presence, But What Should I Do To Prepare For A Container?
It’s up to you whether or not you want to be present for the delivery and removal. Tips to keep in mind if you don’t want to be there:
1. Ensure that the delivery and removal area is clear of all vehicles and other objects.
2. Check to see whether there are any cables or overhead impediments in the delivery area.
3. If the container needs to be set down on plywood, make sure the delivery area has been indicated and plywood has been laid out on the driveway for driver’s convenience.

How much does a dumpster rental cost?
The cost of renting a dumpster from us depends on the type of service you want, where you live, and a number of other things, such as:
- Size
- Types of junk
- How much stuff weighs
- Location
- How long you can rent something
How do you pay for an ongoing dumpster service?
Bills for commercial front-load dumpsters are sent out once a month. You’ll get a bill every month, and the date listed is when your credit card payment will be processed.
Do I need a licence?
Most cities require a permit if you want to put the bin on the street. Go to your city’s Public Works website to get a permit. If the bin is on your own land, you do not need a permit. But we need your signature in person or by fax to let you off the hook for any damage to property. Be aware that a 2 tonne bin that is empty and an 8 tonne bin that is full can easily crack your driveway. Plywood may help avoid damage. Our drivers won’t put a bin down where it could hurt someone or damage something.
What If The Dumpster Causes Damage?
Getting a dumpster is at your own risk. Please understand the dumpsters and trucks are very heavy, so it is possible it could cause damage to where you are putting it. We put wood under the can when placed on the driveway. This almost always protects the driveway, but we do not take responsibility for any damage.
What If It Rains?
All of the excess water will be drained out when the dumpster is picked up and put on the truck. Yes, it could affect the weight if there are things that soak up water. There is nothing we can do about this. We too get charged for that water weight. If you are very worried about it, we suggest you put a tarp tightly over it to keep water out.
Why Do I Get Charged For Overweight?
We take the dumpsters to transfer stations who charge us based on the weight of the dumpster. We include a certain amount of weight in the price you pay for the dumpster. However, if it does go over the weight limit you are charged for the additional weight.
What Happens If My Dumpster Is Overfilled?
If the dumpster is too full we will not pick it up and you will be charged a trip charge. In some cases, if it is a matter of just an item or two unsafely thrown on top. The driver will take those off and leave them on property.
How much will it cost to rent a dumpster?
This depends on the company, but most will charge fees for pick-up, drop-off, fuel surcharge, tonnage, and rental per day. Depending on your situation, there may be other fees as well. Make sure to talk to the company ahead of time about your needs.
